Nervous? That's completely normal. Here's exactly what happens so there are no surprises.
We Pick You Up
Your instructor arrives at your door — home, school, or work. No need to arrange a lift.
Get Comfortable
We start with the basics: mirrors, seat position, controls. No pressure, no rush. We go at your pace.
Start in Quiet Streets
You'll begin in low-traffic areas to build confidence with steering, braking, and indicating before hitting busier roads.
Build Real Skills
By the end of your first lesson, most students are driving on real roads. You'll surprise yourself.
Plan Your Next Steps
Your instructor outlines what you did well and what to focus on next. You'll leave feeling excited, not overwhelmed.

How to get your Queensland driver licence
From learner permit to P plates — here's exactly what you need to do. We'll help you every step of the way.
Get Your Learner Licence
Pass the written road rules test at a QLD Transport office. You must be at least 16 years old. Study the Your Keys to Driving in Queensland guide.
💡 Tip: Book your theory test online at QLD Transport to skip the queue.
Log 100 Hours of Driving
Complete 100 hours of supervised driving (including 10 hours at night) in your logbook. This must be with a licensed supervisor.
💡 Tip: Mix your practice with professional lessons to build the right habits early.
Take Professional Lessons
Most students book 10–20 professional lessons to fill skill gaps and prepare for the test. Each professional hour counts as 3 logbook hours (up to 10 hours = 30 logbook hours).
💡 Tip: Start lessons early — don't wait until you've done all 100 hours.
Book Your Practical Test
When you and your instructor feel you're ready, book your practical driving test at Helensvale or Southport test centre.

Pass & Get Your P Plates!
Complete the practical test and receive your provisional (P1) licence. You're now a licensed driver!
